Dr. Huy Ho was recently interviewed by NBC affiliate KMIR regarding opioid abuse in America. Dr. Ho graduated our program in 2016 and completed an extra year of training as a fellow in addiction medicine at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. He currently practices addiction medicine in Southern California.
Our friends and families had a wonderful, festive time at the Family Medicine 2015 Holiday Party! The theme for our party was, as you can probably tell, ugly holiday sweaters! We had a white elephant gift exchange where, for some reason, a Christmas-themed garden gnome was one of the most coveted gifts. We recognized our medical assistant of the year, Irma, during this joyous occasion. From our family to yours, Happy Holidays!!!
On November 1, 2015, a few of us got together to conquer The Down & Dirty Obstacle Race. We worked as a team to crush the more than 20 challenging obstacles, while trying to keep the mud out of our eyes. We had lots of fun watching our colleagues get dirty with mud while helping to raise money for a good cause, Operation Gratitude, a Los Angeles based charity that sends care packages to deployed U.S. Military.
On October 12, 2015, the family medicine department decided to take some time of from our usually hectic schedules to unwind and to hang out with each other outside of work. Throughout the day, we shared ideas on how to improve our program, along with discovering who was the best cook in our program (Elyas Parsa makes a great breakfast sandwich), and who had the best arms in football. This was a great opportunity for the established residents and faculty to hang out with the new interns, who are already done with a quarter of their intern year.

On June 27, 2015, we graduated our class of 2015 at Stockton's Golf and Country Club. We are honored to have these doctors chose us for their training, and we are grateful for their contributions to our patients and our department. We had a blast during the graduation ceremony giving out gag gifts to our residents.
